You're back, I'm back,

As are most everyone else!

A while back I sold my '99 convertible (D'oh), bought a BRZ, ended up divorced, sold the toys, and once finances and life stabilized again, got back into the car I can't ever seem to let go of.
I now have a '91 Trans Am with the 305/5 speed with a G92 package. Despite coming from Minnesota, its pretty damned rust free save for some scaly surface rust on the drivers floor pan.

A year ago on the first weekend I drove it, the engine caught fire on the way to work on Monday morning. Culprit? Alternator seized up. Hagerty wasn't impressed with a car they insured for a whopping two days with $5,500 worth of damage. Thankfully the PO used them for insurance, too. It helped the case that the car had a history of being alright before I took ownership. Its all good now. I also refurbished the headliner by reinforcing the backing with some fiberglass and recovered it. The speakers also got replaced since they were OEM and blown. I claybar'd and buffed the paint back to a smooth, satiny black finish as well.

This summer, the transmission let go of 5th gear. I rebuilt it, went further than I should of, didn't do a good job, and sent it out to a specialist. (Hanlon Motorsports in PA is awesome, BTW).  I got it back last week and installed it this weekend along with a new centerforce clutch (thanks for the tips, John!). The car works great now and I'm looking forward to a full season with it this year!! Drove her into work today. No real plans to do anything except leave it stock (aside from the cat back exhaust) and enjoy it as much as possible.
